DRIP, DRIP, DRIP ? CAN ARIZONA AVOID A WATER CRISIS? Arizona Town Hall to address ?Keeping Arizona?s Water Glass Full? in November How long are your showers? Grass or desert? Low flush or old flush? On or off while you brush your teeth? Water bottle or thermos? Whether we?re talking surface or ground, river, reclaimed or stored water, every drop is an important part of Arizona?s water portfolio. Reclaiming and refocusing on our ?water stewardship? will be the focus of the 107th Arizona Town Hall set for November 15-18, 2015 at the Hilton Mesa in Mesa, Arizona. Arizonans from across the state will gather to take a deep dive into the issue of water ? a perennial favorite that has been the focus of a Town Hall about once every 10 years. Participants will be armed with a comprehensive background report to help frame their recommendations for business, community, state and local leaders. Although every other Town Hall background report has been produced by one of the three state universities, the research report for the Water Town Hall is being drafted by an expert team that includes representatives of all three universities, as well as other experts studying or working on water issues. Each statewide Town Hall is typically made up of a broad cross-section of Arizona residents, carefully balanced to assure that the discussions will not be dominated by any single interest group or point of view. About one-third of the participants are not experts on the discussion topic. Participants are typically nominated by Arizona Town Hall?s board of directors, but anyone interested in participating may nominate themselves by completing the application form on the Arizona Town Hall website. (LINK)Active Arizona Town Hall members who have not recently attended a full Town Hall also are eligible to be selected to participate on one of the panels that will spend three days discussing this topic.
